- It's 3 cups of flour.
- You need 1 teaspoon of yeast.
- It's 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
- It's 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- It's 2 tablespoons of veg. oil.
- You need Pinch of salt.
- You need of Chicken or beef.
- Prepare of Cabbage.
- It's of Carrots.
- You need of Cucumber.
- It's of Onion.
- You need of Scotch bonnet.
- It's of Mayonnaise.
- Prepare of Ketchup.
My homemade shawarma step by step
- Mix flour, yeast, baking powder, sugar, salt and oil together, add water and make a dough.
- Cover the dough with wet towel and leave in a warm place to raise for 30 mins.
- Wash and cut your vegetables as desired.
- Cut the chicken or beef into smaller pieces, put in a pan, add water, seasoning, salt, sliced onions and scotch bonnet and a little oil and cook till soft.
- Set all your chopped vegetables, cooked meat, dough and mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise.
- Using a rolling stick and chopping board, flattened the dough into a round or rectangular shaped and fry in a non stick pan but without oil, to make the shawarma bread.
- Take the shawarma bread, spread the mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise, put cabbage on one side, put a spoonful of meat, put the carrot, add the sliced cucumber on top.
- Fold and insert a chopping stick in the middle to hold it in one piece..
- Serve shawarma with drink of choice.
